Hi —
I’m Roy Agee
I’m a professional trombonist and an avid believer that music does good in the world.

Start over every day
I’ve always loved music —
I haven’t always loved myself.
I know what it’s like to be where you’re at, because I’ve been there myself.
Afraid to make mistakes, the self doubt, performance anxiety, and feeling like I wasn’t enough.
We’ve all had bad teachers and we all have that voice inside our heads who thinks it’s protecting us by keeping us small.
Throughout my musical career (and a lot of self-work), I’ve learned to lean into my imperfections. Letting them guide me and my musical expression. And in doing that, I found my way back to myself.
I can help you do the same.

“I’m famous for being
a good person”
I never thought I’d play alongside Prince. Not in a million years. Which made me turn him down the first time he asked. Me? Why would he want me?!
The thing here is that when you become a professional in your field, people care less about what you can do and more about who you are.
Everyone knew I was a great trombone player — but the first thing people mentioned when they said my name was that I was a good person.
That’s why Prince picked up the phone to ask me to work with him a second time. And why I said yes.
Don’t forget — your authenticity is your biggest differentiator. .

Music is
self-exploration
and healing
It weaves itself into the fabric of your life — building you up when you’re feeling good and helping you sit in your feels when life gets rocky. Music has been my greatest teacher in life — carrying me through my divorce and helping me confront my own insecurities every day.
Music is the embodiment of the human experience. And because music spans all emotions, it can be your greatest teacher, too.
Remind people what music means to them
As an orchestrator of sound, you have the power to create melodies that haunt, inspire, move, and comfort people. Melodies that become the soundtrack to someone's life.
I can’t wait to help foster your creativity, feed your passion, and remind you of your impact on the world.
